Ask Me Anything > Did You asked a daughter?

I have a daughter with a fresh diagnosis of type 1 diabetes I think of the blog and I have one associated with this question. Did you asked the daughter if she want you to drive this blog? You're an author but she's the central figure

Hello Bożena!

So amazing that we are connecting from so far away. I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's diagnosis but I think you will find that the diabetes online community is very supportive and helpful.

Arden was three years old when I started this blog and so the simple answer to your question is, no I didn't speak with her prior to blogging. I honestly didn't expect the site to be widely read and she was too small to discuss the topic. As she gets older I am very reverent of her feelings and desires when it comes to what appears here. I don't talk about or show anything that Arden isn't comfortable with. I respect her privacy and try very hard to write only from my perspective... that's a fine line to draw but I think I do it reasonably well. I hope that answered your question!

Best of luck to you and your family!
Scott

My daughter is 7. She has own opinion and I think I should.
You wrote, you didn't expect the side to be widely read. I wonder how many readers do you have?

I don't make the sites numbers public, I'm sorry. I can only say that it's a lot of people and I'm so grateful that they take time out of their day to come here. I hope you understand... Best, Scott
