DexCom G4 Platinum Overview

DexCom just updated their site with a ton of G4 information!

DexCom says:

  • 25ft range for flexibility and convenience
  • Beautifully colored receivers to fit into your lifestyle
  • Less than 1/2 inch thick
  • Customizable Alarms -Tones and melodies to suit any environment - Examples of the alarms are available at the bottom of this page.
  • New software, DexCom Studio (I'm not seeing a Mac version)

Orders are being taken now at 888-738-3646. I'm on the phone with customer service now... they are unsure of when new G4 will be delivered if you order. I'm being told that a rep will call me back tomorrow with details.

My post with the press release is here.

Some are reporting online that shipping will begin at the end of October. I'll know more tomorrow when the sales rep calls me.

I'm more excited today then I was on iPhone day!

Grace got her Seven Plus just a week ago. Called our Dexcom rep at 3 pm and she said Grace will get a free upgrade to the G4, and it will ship at the end of October. This is for people who received the Seven Plus within 30 days (month of September). Not sure about shipping date for others.

Penny that is fantastic news! DexCom's CS has always been good in my opinion, I'm glad to see others have a similar experience. Can't wait to hear what you think of the G4.

Doctor is calling in the prescription this morning! Hoping to get a demo from our local San DIego Dexcom rep prior to shipment!

I heard this generation from Dexcom is from the early people who are using them in Europe. I can't wait to try them out.

Hi Scott, Got confirmation from our local rep today that we are all a go once I pay the co-insurance. This will be our first CGM for our recently diagnosed 7 year old, Ella. I am super excited, especially for the nights, but my wife (and other moms at the local jdrf coffee night this week) is concerned about scarring, is this an issue? Cheers, Jason

Jason - great news! Arden doesn't have any scars after 2+ years. I can't say what may happen in the future or speak to what others have experienced but it's been great for us.

Wait until you see how much seeing the trends, directions and speed of rises and fall assists you in making good decisions.

Be well,
Scott
